Stand Up 2 Cancer

Restaurant Leadership 2013 showcases collaboration, innovation & businesses doing well by doing good.

Rusty Roberts, co-founder of SU2C, took the stage like a force of nature this morning to kick off the CARRE Foundation’s 4th year of partnering with MasterCard and this incredible organization that has set forth a mission so bold that it has captured the imaginations and talents of a web that includes scientists, researchers, the entertainment industry and now the restaurant industry and our millions of guests.

Founded by a group of women including Katie Couric, Sherry Lansing, Rusty and the late Laura Ziskin, a legendary film director who passed away in 2011 after a long fight with breast cancer; this organization has set as its goal stopping cancer in its tracks.  Rusty’s shared their vision of a time in the near future when people are able to live with cancer, not die from it.

The work that has already been done is amazing.  In fact Time Magazine featured SU2C as their March 21 cover story.

Small wonder that Rusty has been named one of the Top 100 Marketers in the country.  She had the RLC audience in tears as she urged us to “Dig In & Do Good” in this summers MasterCard campaign.  Learn more and how you can help here.

Kudos to #RLC@013 for their continued commitment to making a difference and making us all proud to be a part of this great industry.

I am blogging from the 2013 Restaurant Leadership Conference, a gathering of over 1700 foodservice operators and suppliers, hosted by GE Capital, McLane, NCR, Pepsico and Restaurant Business.
